A choice of the culinary highlights en route
Gasthof Goldener Löwe, Kallmünz
If you take the beautiful route from Regensburg along the river Naab, you soon reach the picturesque town of Kallmünz. Here it is well recommended that you visit the Goldenen Löwen (Golden Lion), a guesthouse run by the Luber family. You can test the home brewed "Zoigl-Bier" and the real yet simple specialities from the Oberpfalz. Rooms are also available.
The ingredients come from the nearby surroundings and the menu is handwritten. If you come too late you may see the word "ausgegessen" meaning 'everything eaten' written on the menu. It is definitely worth making a reservation.

Buchscharner Seewirt, Münsing
A 200 year old farmhouse situated right on the Starnberger See is home to a small beer garden. Serving hefty Bavarian cuisine, this little beer garden attracts all sorts of guests and it is full on sunny days - reservations are recommended. Later on you can see one of the most beautiful sunsets north of the Alps.
